STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH RULED A HOMICIDE

   On 12/04/09, at approximately 7:23 p.m., a 911 call was received reporting a possible brush fire on JEREMY HILL Road in North Stonington.  The caller reported that it appeared possible that a body was on fire at that location.  The Resident State Trooper and North Stonington Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival it was determined that there was a deceased body on fire at the location. 

   Human remains were pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS personnel.  The area was secured by responding State Troopers.  The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene to initiate a criminal investigation into this incident.

   State Police Major Crime Detectives processed the scene for forensic and physical evidence. Detectives located and interviewed witnesses in this case. State Trooper Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal also responded to assist in the fire portion of this investigation.  While the scene was processed, State Police closed Jeremy Hill Road to traffic from Route 184 to Route 201.

   The deceased has not been identified at this time.  The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner where a post mortem examination was conducted. The death has been ruled a homicide.

   State Troopers have not identified the deceased female. She is described as being either Asian or white, approximately 19 to 25 years old, brown hair, brown eyes,  5'2", 100 lbs, with a tongue bolt piercing in her tongue.

   State Police are asking anyone with any information in this case to contact State Police Major Crime Detectives at Troop E at (860) 848 6500.  All calls will be kept confidential.

   The investigation is continuing.
