STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE VANDALISM IN HEBRON

Today, 04/09/09, Connecticut State Police, Troop “K” received a complaint from the caretaker of Camp Hi Hoti (a kids summer camp in Hebron) that he had discovered extensive vandalism that was inflicted on the property of the camp located at 444 East Street near the intersection of Jagger Lane in the Town of Hebron. State Police Troopers responded to the scene and initiated a criminal investigation of the damage to this private property.

State Troopers working with the Hebron Resident State Trooper and with the assistance of State Police Detectives examined the damage to the five buildings at Camp Hi Hoti. Investigation has revealed that the damage, believed to have occurred within the past five days, includes numerous broken windows, damage to plaster and walls of the buildings. In addition several fire extinguishers were discharged and a rider mower was driven into an empty swimming pool.

Due to the severity of vandalism the acting Town manager Andrew Tierne has also been advised. State Police have no monetary estimates of the damage at this time.
