On August 7, 2009, at approximately 6:20 am, Connecticut State Police Troop F, received information that an object was thrown into the Mount Higby Reservoir, which is a Middletown Water Supply.  This occurred in the town of Middlefield, where the reservoir meets Route 66.  Department of Health and the Middletown Water Authority was advised.  Members of the Connecticut State Police Dive Team responded.   Due to investigative efforts, the parties responsible for throwing the item into the water were located and cooperated with authorities.
