STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE EASTFORD BANK ROBBERY

   Today, at 11:14 a.m., State Police at Troop D were notified of a bank robbery at the New Alliance Bank located on Route 198 in Eastford.

   State Troopers responded to the bank to secure the scene and conduct a search of the area for the two suspects.  State Police Trooper One, the State Police helicopter, also responded to assist in the search effort.

   Preliminary information obtained from witnesses at the scene indicated that two males entered the bank armed and demanded cash. One male was described as approximately 6 feet tall and 220 pounds.  Both suspects exited the bank and fled in a white vehicle, possibly a station wagon with possible out of state plates.  No one was injured during this robbery.

   State Police Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the bank robbery scene to conduct the criminal investigation into this incident.

   State Police are asking anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the New Alliance Bank just before or at the time of this robbery and may have seen anything to please contact State Police at 860- 779-4900 all calls will be kept confidential.
