   On Monday December 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., the Connecticut State Police, in conjunction with Emergency Department Physicians and Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele, will demonstrate the use of gunlocks and announce a program making free gunlocks available for gun owners in the state. This announcement is to remind Connecticut residents to lock and properly store all firearms in accordance with the law.

   December is a time when firearm sales increase dramatically and the need for safe secure storage of firearms is paramount.

At the press conference at St Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department, Troopers will demonstrate that the simple use of a gunlock can prevent tragedy.

   Free gunlocks are now available at all Connecticut State Police Troops.  Gunlocks enhance and ensure the security of firearms in the home.
