STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE UNTIMELY DEATH
On 12/20/08 State Police responded to a reported car fire at the rest stop located on Interstate 95 just past exit #62 in Madison. The Madison Fire Department arrived to a fully engulfed vehicle fire. When the fire was extinguished a deceased male was located inside the vehicle.
The vehicle and immediate area was secured by responding Troopers. State Police Detectives from the Office of State Fire Marshal and State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to conduct an investigation into this fire. The preliminary information uncovered by Detectives indicates that there is no criminal aspect to this fire death.
The deceased was transported to the medical examiner's office. Today 12/21/08 a post mortem examination was conducted by the Office of The Chief State's Medical Examiner. It was determined that the deceased death was ruled a suicide.
State Police have made a tentative identification that the deceased is aNew York resident but State Police are withholding any further information pending a positive identification.
