STATE POLICE COMPUTER CRIMES UNIT

MAKE RISK OF INJURY ARREST INTERNET  CRIME

MINOR VICTIM IN KENTUCKY

On Friday January 25, 2008 the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested Brian O’Shaughnessy  of Madison CT after conducting a criminal investigation here in Connecticut. This investigation was prompted when Kentucky Police authorities reported to the Computer Crimes Unit that the mother of a 14 year old female in Kentucky was filing a complaint that the accused had been conversing with her 14 year old daughter both over the phone and on the Internet.

The investigation determined that the accused had been in contact with the 14-year old girl from Kentucky in an online chat room and began communicating with her over the phone. During the phone conversations, the subject described graphic acts to the victim and spoke of performing acts while conversing with her. The accused also spoke about traveling to Kentucky to meet the young girl.

During the Connecticut investigation Connecticut State Police Detectives working with Kentucky Police authorities obtained witness information and evidence that resulted in the Troopers application for an arrest warrant for the accused.

State Police Investigators obtained the arrest warrant for the accused from Connecticut Superior Court GA#1. On Friday January 25, 2008 the subject was located at his place of employment in Stamford, CT and was taken into custody. He was transported to Troop G in Bridgeport where he was processed.

The accused was released on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior

Court GA #1 on February 7, 2008 at 10:00.

Charges:   Four counts of Risk of Injury to Children 53a-21(a)(1),

One count of Enticing a Minor 53a-90a                     

This case remains under investigation.
