Apprehension and Arrest Made

Domestic Violence Homicide in Plainfield

   Early Friday morning, January 12, 2007, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the Plainfield Police received a 911 call reporting that a male subject had forced his way into one of the apartments of a 3 family structure located at #19 Pleasant Street, and assaulted a female in that residence.

   Plainfield Police officers and State Troopers responded to the scene and discovered that the male suspect had fled. A deceased female victim was located in the residence.

   

   Witnesses at the scene provided the police with information and a physical description of a male suspect who had fled the scene on foot.

   A State Police K-9 Team, State Troopers and a Plainfield Police Officer tracked the suspect to a location behind a business on Plainfield Pike. The K-9 located the suspect who was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, was transported to Backus Hospital under State Police guard, treated for minor injuries and subsequently released to State Police.

   The suspect was transported to Troop D where he was processed and held on bond. The suspect will be presented at Superior Court in Danielson on Tuesday Jan 16th.  The arrested is being identified as:

  

     ACCUSED: Roger FENNER,  age 45

                        97 Plainfield Pike, Plainfield, CT

   At the request of the Plainfield Police Chief and the Windham County State’s Attorney the State Police Major Crime Squad has been assigned to this investigation.

   The identity of the female victim is not being released at this time pending the notification of the victim’s family. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct a Postmortem examination to determine the exact manner and cause of death.
