“UPDATE”

STATE POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE LEDYARD HOMICIDE

Ledyard--On 01/28/06 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Connecticut State Police Troop-E responded to a 911 call from a citizen who reported that he had found the remains of a male in a field off of 448 Shewville Road in Ledyard CT.  The male was pronounced dead at the scene and the area was secured by State Police as a crime scene. 

The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad  processed the scene and to conduct the investigation into this death.  State Police Detectives processed the scene gathering physical and forensic evidence.

Detectives have identified the deceased as ANTHONY HAMLIN  DOB: 3/16/65 His last know address of 34 Atlantic Court Groton, CT.

The Chief States Medical Examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased.  The death was ruled a homicide with the cause of death determined to be trauma to the head.  

State Police Detectives are seeking assistance in this investigation. On Friday night (1/27/06) the deceased is believed to have been in the area of State Street and Bank Street in New London. He is believed to have been there  sometime between 10:00 p.m on Friday into the early morning hours of Saturday (01/28/06).   State Police would like anyone who may have seen the deceased or has any information regarding this case to call State Police at (860) 848-6500.
