                      STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN THREATENING CASE

                                              AT ELLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

Today 09/28/06 State Police Troop C in Tolland received a telephone call from Ellington High School Administrators reporting that threatening writing had been located on a desk in a classroom at the high school. State Troopers responded to the scene to initiate a criminal investigation into the threat.

Responding State Troopers examined the threatening note and its content. A criminal investigation was initiated. School Officials and Troopers searched the facility. School administrators were able to provideState Police Investigators with information relative to seat assignments in the classroom.  

At approximately 9:00 a.m. State Police Investigators took a 16-year-old Ellington high school student into custody. The accused was charged with Falsely Reporting An Incident and Breach Of Peace.

There was no significant interruption to the school day as a result of this incident.

State Police are reminding parents and guardians to completely instruct all students that this type of behavior is not a joke or hoax and it is never tolerated. This type of behavior is a serious crime that, with a court conviction, can result in a jail sentence and a monetary fine.
