BANK ROBBERY IN OLD LYME

On Tuesday July 25th, 2006 at approximately  11:21 a.m. State Police Troop-F was notified via 911 and alarm that a lone male had entered the Webster Bank on Halls Road in the Town of Old Lyme Connecticut and handed a bank teller a note demanding money. No weapon was displayed by the perpetrator.

Upon receiving the alarm of the robbery troopers from Troop F and Troopers and Officers from the Old Lyme Resident Trooper’s Office responded to the scene and conducted a complete search of the area. State Police Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad were summoned to the scene to conduct an investigation and gather physical evidence.

Investigation revealed that an undetermined amount of money was given to the perpetrator before he fled on foot to what was reported by witnesses as possibly a full size pick up truck color blue which left the scene in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries reported at the bank.

The perpetrator was described as a white male approximately 40 to 50 years old with black and gray (“salt and pepper”) hair and a goatee type beard. The perpetrator was described as wearing a ball cap, sun glasses, t-shirt, shorts and sneakers.
