AMBER ALERT CASE RESULTS
IN AN ARREST
The State Police Major Crime Squad, State Troopers from Troop E in Montville and Officers from the Montville Police Department, are investigating an incident which warranted an Amber Alert on Monday afternoon August 7th, 2006 after a 10 month old child was reported as missing and possibly in imminent danger.

An Amber Alert was broadcasted in regards to this incident in an attempt to locate the child. Subsequently the child was located unharmed by State Police Detectives at a residence in
A criminal investigation was initiated into the circumstances of this incident and attempts were made to locate the parties involved in this incident. The State Police Major Crime Squad was assigned to this investigation. All police agencies throughout the state were notified of the suspect vehicle’s description and plate number.
At approximately 5:30 State Police Detectives developed information in regards to a possible location of the suspect vehicle on Rt. 2 in the
A male subject in that vehicle was arrested for crimes perpetrated during this incident. That subject is being identified as :
Akeem S. MORRIS age 29 d.o.b. 07/10/1977
v the suspect is being charged with several criminal charges in regards to this incident to include Burglary 3rd, Kidnapping 1st, Assault 3rd, Risk of Injury to a Minor and Unlawful Restraint 1st.
