It is with sadness that the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory / Division of Scientific Services joins the broader forensic community in mourning the passing of Dr. Henry C. Lee, a pioneering figure in forensic science and a transformative leader whose impact on Connecticut will be felt for generations.
Dr. Lee played a foundational role in the history of the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory, serving for more than two decades as its leader and helping shape it into one of the nation’s most recognized forensic laboratories. He also served as Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety, where his leadership helped advance both forensic science and public safety across our state.
Through his leadership, mentorship, and innovation, Dr. Lee inspired generations of forensic professionals and helped elevate the role of science in the pursuit of truth and justice.
On behalf of the Division of Scientific Services, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Lee’s family, friends, former colleagues, students, and all those touched by his extraordinary career and service.
“As we reflect on Dr. Lee’s legacy, we remain proud to carry forward the mission of scientific excellence and public service that he helped establish here in Connecticut. His contributions to our laboratory, our profession, and our state will not be forgotten.”
