DNA Database
DNA Database and No-suspect Nuclear Casework Unit
Connecticut DNA Database
The Unit receives approximately 12,000 convicted offender samples and over 400 no-suspect cases annually. 20,000 profiles are currently entered into the CT DNA Database.
The primary purpose of the CT DNA Database is to compare DNA profiles generated from evidence recovered from crime scenes to the DNA profiles generated from Convicted Offenders. The database consists of two main indices: the convicted offender profiles and the forensic unknown profiles. There are additional indices to aid in the identification of missing persons and unidentified human remains.
