7/22/2025

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection will continue a series of public meetings about hate crimes in Connecticut with a program from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Norwich at 300 Main St. in the former Chelsea Groton Bank building.

In addition, they will present the latest hate crime statistics for the state of Connecticut and answer any questions the community may have," said Michael Bloom, Hate Crimes Initiative Coordinator for DESPP.

WHO: Commissioner Ronnell A. Higgins, members of the Connecticut State Police Hate Crimes Investigative Unit, Norwich Mayor Peter Nystrom, Norwich Chief of Police Patrick Daley, and a representative from the Office of the State’s Attorney.

WHAT: Public meeting to discuss hate crimes.

WHERE: 300 Main St., Norwich.

WHEN: 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23.
