‘DESPP in the Community’ Offers a Chance to Learn about Public Safety and Career Opportunities
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection will launch the first in a series of public meetings with a discussion about public safety across Connecticut, the role of DESPP, and career opportunities with the agency.
“DESPP In the Community” kicks off on Feb. 26 at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain with a program featuring the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and the Division of Scientific Services.
DESPP is made up of six different divisions, each of which plays a critical role in keeping Connecticut safe. DESPP employees are on the front lines, from responding to natural disasters to analyzing crime-scene DNA to patrolling our highways.
“The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) is committed to enhancing the quality of life in Connecticut through law enforcement, public education, cutting-edge science and technology, and top-notch training for our personnel,” said Commissioner Ronnell A. Higgins.
“DESPP in the Community is part of our initiative to engage with residents and explain the essential role of our department in Connecticut. We aim to increase awareness of our work and highlight the career opportunities available within a department dedicated to public safety,” Higgins stated.
The event is free and sponsored in partnership with CCSU. Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/4jBu6H5.
