FEMA Non-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Grants Open September 30th 2022

The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) is pleased to announce that the FEMA Non-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Grants, the Building Resilient Infrastructure (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) will open September 30th, 2022.

The Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program makes federal funds available to states, U.S territories, Indian tribal governments, and local communities for pre-disaster mitigation activities while the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program provides funds for projects to reduce or eliminate risk of flood damage to buildings that are insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Connecticut State Hazard Mitigation Officer, Ken Dumais said, "DEMHS is excited to work with eligible sub-applicants to apply for funding under the FY 2022 BRIC and FMA programs. FEMA has made significant investments in mitigation and resiliency through the BRIC and FMA programs and Connecticut will continue to benefit from this investment into the future."
