EXWU0051 - Full Weather Report

At 6:00 PM the center of Tropical Storm Henri was located approximately 10 miles south of Hartford. Henri is moving to the northwest at 7 MPH. At 6:00 PM radar showed showers from Tropical Storm Henri in western CT. Winds have subsided considerably and are currently gusting to 10 - 20 MPH across most of the state. Eversource and UI are currently reporting a total of 28,026 customers without power across the state mainly in central and eastern CT. Rainfall from Henri has totaled 2” – 4” across most of the state with the highest rainfall totals in southeastern CT.

Heavy thunderstorm activity expected on Monday: Clusters of thunderstorms will likely form in the remnant circulation of Henri on Monday across the state. These thunderstorms will likely contain torrential downpours (1” – 2” of rain per hour) which may cause significant urban flooding. Flood Watches have been extended until 8:00 PM Monday evening for the entire state. These thunderstorms may also contain dangerous lightning and some gusty winds. The most likely time period for thunderstorms is between noon and 8:00 PM on Monday. Additional updates will be sent out tomorrow if necessary.
