At 4:00 PM the center of Tropical Storm Henri was located approximately 15 miles southeast of Hartford. Henri is moving to the northwest at approximately 9 MPH with maximum sustained winds estimated at 40 MPH.
At 4:00 PM radar showed bands of heavy rain from Tropical Storm Henri continuing in western CT. North and Northeast winds are currently gusting to 30 - 40 MPH across most of the state. Eversource and UI are currently reporting a total of 29,473 customers without power across the state mainly in eastern CT.
Rainfall from Henri has totaled 2” – 4” across most of the state with the highest rainfall totals in southeastern CT. Flood Warnings remain in effect for the Hartford and New Haven areas. Some additional urban flooding is possible in western CT and some river and stream flooding can be expected to continue across the state for the next several hours.
Moderate Tree and Powerline Damage Has Occurred: Winds may gust to 30 – 40 MPH at times for the next few hours. These wind gusts may cause some additional power outages.
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will continue to closely monitor the track of T.S. Henri.
