At 11:00 AM light to moderate snow and sleet was falling across eastern CT with rain along the coast. Most of the steady precipitation has ended in western CT. Temperatures currently range from the mid 20’s in northern CT up to the mid 30’s along the coast. Here’s the latest forecast:
This Afternoon: Very light sleet, freezing rain and rain are forecast to end from west to east by 3:00 PM. The impact on the afternoon rush hour is expected to be minor. Most roads are expected to be wet with just some slush on shoulders and ramps.
This Evening and Tonight: Some patches of black ice may form especially on untreated roads as temperatures fall into the teens overnight.
Total snowfall has ranged generally from 1” – 2” in southern CT up to 2” – 4” in in Northern CT. There have been a few higher amounts close to 5” near the MA border.
