Andy Read, Global Head of Government Solutions, ICEYE Solutions
As Global Head of Government Solutions, Andy Read leads ICEYE’s efforts to deliver actionable, natural disaster satellite data to public sector organizations. With an extensive background in public policy, natural catastrophe resilience and re/insurance, Andy works directly with public sector leaders to implement solutions that improve recovery outcomes and enable decisive response to natural disasters.
Prior to joining ICEYE, Andy was Vice President of the Public Sector Practice at Guy Carpenter, where he designed risk transfer solutions that enabled financial resilience for government organizations. In this role, Andy co-authored the concept of Community-Based Catastrophe Insurance with the Wharton Risk Center and led related local and regional-level engagements across the Practice.
In prior capacity, Andy was the Executive Officer for FEMA’s Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration, serving as principal advisor to the Deputy Associate Administrator for Insurance and Mitigation and the broader FEMA Resilience leadership team. As an operational leader, he oversaw a team of policy advisors that supported executive decision making for FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program, along with the Mitigation, Historic Preservation and Risk Management Directorates.
Andy has more than a decade of experience working in natural disaster resilience, re/insurance and emergency management through roles in the private and public sector. He is located in Park City, UT and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech, with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering.
