It is important to note that the CAS is no longer used as a power plant – the CAS’ electricity generation functionality and fuel oil use were decommissioned in 2020-2021.
The plant currently burns natural gas to produce the heating commodity. Electricity is used to power the chillers, cooling towers and pumps.
