Expertise:
Dr. Krol has expertise in the extraction and analysis of pesticide residues, natural products and toxins found in food and environmental matrices.  Dr. Krol’s primary duties are focused upon to implementing, analyzing, compiling and reporting data pertaining to the monitoring of pesticide residues found in food sold within the State.  This work requires close collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and the Food and Drug Administration who are responsible for obtaining samples for analysis and enforcing violations when found.  Annual reports of the findings are published on the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) website.
