Arthropod Collection

The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station Arthropod Collection

The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station Arthropod Collection is focused primarily on the insects of our state. The collection includes a broad range of insects across all taxa collected from about 1900 to 1950, and in more recent years has been driven by specific research programs, including intensive collections of bees (Apoidea), jewel beetles (Buprestidae), and longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae). CAES is in the process of creating a globally accessible database of our collections. For more information and permission to access our collection, contact the Collections Manager, Dr. Gale Ridge.
