Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz swore in Millie Torres-Ferguson as Deputy Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Torres-Ferguson is the first Latina to be appointed to the role.

LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS FROM 22 STATES & TERRITORIES ANNOUNCE COALITION TO PROTECT REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM
A caucus of 22 lieutenant governors representing more than 165 million people, led by Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, announced the formation of a Reproductive Freedom Coalition. The multi-state coalition will work together to protect and expand reproductive freedom and access to health care in the wake of unprecedented attacks following the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz joined New Haven Health Director Maritza Bond and the Connecticut Pharmacists Association to urge the Connecticut General Assembly to pass legislation allowing pharmacists to prescribe certain types of birth control without patients first needing to visit their doctor.

Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Access Health CT highlighted The Broker Academy which creates a pathway to license health insurance brokers by recruiting from, and building the skillsets of, those who live and work in historically underserved communities throughout Connecticut. The program, now in its second year, was created as part of AHCT’s mission-driven approach to reduce health disparities and drive change within underserved communities.
