Connecticut State Police Detectives, East Haddam Fire Marshal Investigate Fatal Residential Fire

East Haddam, CT (January 9, 2018): Connecticut State Police detectives from the Fire and Explosion Unit (FEIU) and Eastern District Major Crime, and the East Haddam Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating a fatal residential fire in East Haddam.

On January 8, 2018 at approximately 3:08 p.m., troopers from Troop K-Colchester, along with fire fighters, responded to 51 Ackley Cemetery Road in East Haddam for a residential structure fire. 

After the fire was extinguished, a deceased victim was located inside the residence. The Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit and Eastern District Major Crime Detectives are assisting the East Haddam Fire Marshal with the investigation. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine positive identify of the victim, and cause and manner of death.

This fire remains under investigation.
