355th Recruit Class of the Police Officer Standards and Training Council to Graduate

Ceremony to Take Place on March 29, 2017

   (Meriden, CT)-The Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) proudly announces the graduation of Recruit Class #355.  The class of 44 Police Officers, representing 23 Municipal Police Departments, the University of Connecticut Police Department, the Yale University Police Department, and the Department of Motor Vehicles will complete their training program on March 29, 2017.

   A graduation ceremony will be held at Central Connecticut State University’ Welte Hall in New Britain on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 6:00 pm. 

   The class roster consists of police officers representing police departments in Berlin, Bethel, Bloomfield, Bristol, Clinton, East Windsor, Greenwich, Groton Town, Manchester, Meriden, Plainville, Portland, Putnam, Stonington, Southbury, Stratford, Thomaston, Waterford, West Hartford, Wilton, Winchester, Windsor, Vernon,  West Haven, Windsor, Yale University, University of Connecticut, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

   The Recruits have completed an 880 hour Basic Training Curriculum at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden, encompassing Academic classes, Practical Skills, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Patrol Driving, Penal Code, Motor Vehicle Law, Laws of Arrest, Search and Seizure and a host of other topics.
