Willimantic, CT. (September 7, 2016):   State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are investigating a suspicious death at 621 Valley St. in Willimantic.

On September 7, 2016 at approximately 7:15 a.m. the Willimantic Police Department and the States Attorney’s Office requested the assistance of state police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime for an untimely death investigation.

State Police detectives responded to 621 Valley St. Willimantic, and through the course of the investigation determined the death to be suspicious.  State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime subsequently assumed the investigation. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine cause and manner of death, and confirm positive identity.

Identity is withheld pending confirmation of positive identity and next of kin notification.

Willimantic, CT. (September 9, 2016):  The OCME has ruled this death a homicide.  The victim has been identified as:

William Alvarado (dob 8/1/43)

621 Valley St.

Willimantic, CT.
