CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE

                                       THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY ENFORCEMENT

   Connecticut State Troopers supplement normal patrol force with additional State Troopers over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.  The operation runs from midnight (0001hours) 11/23/11 and concludes at midnight (2400) on Sunday 11/27/11.

   Troopers patrol all roads and highways across Connecticut and will focus on drunk driving violations and target aggressive drivers.

   Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols will be in place over the entire weekend. State Police will continue this preventive enforcement effort until the end of the Holiday season.

   These State Police stats cover the time period starting at midnight on 11/23/11 to 11/27/11 midnight.

SPEEDING Arrests:  431

SEATBELT Arrests: 61

OTHER HAZARDOUS MOVING VIOLATIONSArrests: 805 (TO INCLUDE UNSAFE LANE CHANGE, FOLLOW TOO CLOSE, CELL PHONE USE, FAIL TO SIGNAL ETC.)

DUI ARRESTS:  13

ACCIDENTS Investigated:  211   WITH INJURY:  20   FATALS:  0

CALLS FOR SERVICE:  3,940

STATE TROOPERS WILL CONTINUE THIS ENFORCEMENT THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
