STATE POLICE MAKE CHILD PORN ARREST

Charges:  Promoting a Minor in an Obscene Performance, 53a-196b

               Possession of Child Pornography First Degree, 53a-196d

               Obscenity, 53a-194    

   In July of 2011, the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes and Electronic Evidence Laboratory initiated a criminal investigation into the possible downloading of child pornography from the Internet by the accused Parnell.

   In November of 2011, troopers from the Computer Crimes Unit obtained a search and seizure warrant from Superior Court. That warrant was executed at 134 Vernon Avenue Apt. C in Vernon Rockville, CT.  The search of the residence yielded several items of evidentiary value. Troopers conducted an investigative review of the seized items and did locate numerous images and video files of child pornography.  

   Troopers submitted an arrest warrant application to Superior Court GA #19 Rockville for the arrest of the accused in this case. The arrest warrant was issued. On December 28, 2011 accused Parnell was arrested on the active arrest warrant.

   Parnell was held in lieu of a court set $50,000 bond and will appear at GA# 19 Rockville Superior Court on December 29, 2011, at 0900 hours.
