On November 15, 2011, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Kent Fire Marshal Stanley MacMillan requested assistance with the investigation of a structure fire that occurred in a cabin and pavilion on a parcel of land located adjacent to 322 Schaghticoke Road in the town of Kent.  This structure sits on land held in trust by the State of Connecticut, and designated as a part of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation.

The fire occurred on November 14, 2011, at approximately 10:32 p.m.  There were no injuries as a result of this fire.  The structure, measuring approximately 60' by 22', was heavily damaged as a result of the fire.

During the course of this investigation, Fire Marshal MacMillan, along with Connecticut State Police Detectives assigned to the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, determined that the fire had been intentionally set.  The Western District Major Crime Squad was notified and the CI Unit from Troop L responded to the scene to assume primary investigative efforts.
