On 07/22/10 at approximately 7:10 p.m. a robbery and assault was reported to Troop E – Montville.  The robbery was reported to have occurred off the Glasgo Rd. boat launch in the town of Griswold.

Troopers from Troop E responded to the incident, secured the scene, and initiated an investigation.  The victims reported that four males approached and assaulted them before taking money and leaving in two separate vehicles.  One of the suspects was reported to have displayed a handgun during the robbery.  A search for the suspects was initiated and all area police agencies were notified of the robbery and given a description of the vehicles. 

On 7/22/10 Troopers observed a suspect vehicle on Rt. 12 in Griswold and attempted to stop it.  The suspect refused to stop for the Troopers, so stop sticks were deployed deflating a rear tire.  The suspect vehicle, reported stolen from Norwich, struck a sign before coming to a stop.  Three of the suspects fled the vehicle and a foot chase ensued.  Troopers apprehended and arrested two of the suspects.  The third suspect, operating the stolen vehicle, was arrested at the vehicle and the fourth suspect fled the scene. The handgun was recovered in the vehicle.  State Police Major Crime Squad, Plainfield Police, Norwich Police, and K9 units assisted with the investigation.
