State Troopers Investigate Armed Robbery
On August 3, 2010 at approximately 4:03 a.m., Troopers from Troop E in Montville received a robbery complaint via 911.   It was reported that two males had entered the Mobil Station located at 251 Main St. in Voluntown, displayed a weapon and robbed the store clerk. 

The two males were dressed in black, wearing baseball hats, and bandanas covering their faces.  The suspects were brandishing semi- automatic hand guns when they took an undisclosed amount of money out of the register and fled the scene.

Troopers arrived at the scene searched the area and a criminal investigation was initiated. Troopers obtained store surveillance video footage and other investigative information in this case. Witnesses were also able to provide troopers with specific details regarding this robbery. 

Troopers obtained still photos from security surveillance footage of the suspect as they entered the Mobil station.

The first suspect is described as a black male approximately 6’ tall and was wearing a Pittsburgh pirates hat.  The second suspect is a heavy set white male approximately 5’10” tall.  Both suspects were believed to have fled in a dark colored SUV.  

This case is under active investigation by State Police Detectives at Troop E in Montville.  Troopers are asking anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is asked to call the State Police Criminal Investigations Unit at (860) 848 6532 or the TIP line 860-848-6545.
