         STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SOMERS BANK ROBBERY
   On 06/24/10 at approximately 10:45 a.m. State Police Troop -C receive a bank alarm reporting a bank robbery at the Webster Bank 637 Main St. Somers, Ct.
   Troop C Troopers and the Somers Resident State Trooper responded to the area and to the robbery scene.  A search of the area was conducted utilizing State Police manpower, K-9 teams and aircraft. All area police departments were advisded of the incident and were provided with a full description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle.
   The preliminary State Police investigation revealed that just after 10:45 a.m. a longe while male entered the bank displayed a handgun and demanded money.  There were no injuries and the suspect fled on foot from the bank. Witnesses reported that a light colored Ford Escort was seen fleeing from the area of the bank at a high rate of speed.  

   The suspect is described as a white male 6’1” approximately 300lbs, heavy build,

wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans, a white and blue baseball type cap, and wearing

sunglasses. 

   State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to the scene to process the crime scene,

gather physical evidence and conduct the criminal investigation into this armed robbery.

      Troopers are asking anyone who may recognize the photo of the suspect or may

have been in the area of the bank and observed anything suspicious near the bank

to contact State Police at 860 896-3200. All calls will be kept confidential.
