Sex Offender Arrested By State Police

On March 22, 2010 Connecticut State Police received a complaint and initiated a criminal investigation into an allegation of inappropriate contact between the accused and a juvenile in Northwest Connecticut.

As the investigation began Connecticut State Troopers began to investigate a suspect and uncovered information regarding the suspect being a New York Registered Sex Offender who was residing at a home he had in Salisbury Connecticut.

Connecticut State Troopers developed evidence and witness information that led them to submit arrest warrant affidavits to Superior Court GA #18 in Bantam for the arrest of the accused.  The court issued the arrest warrants for the accused.  New York authorities were advised of the Connecticut arrest warrants and located the accused in New York and held him as a fugitive from justice for Connecticut.

On 04/20/10 Connecticut State Police detectives went to New York and took the accused into custody.  The accused was transported to Troop-B North Canaan where he was processed and held on bond

ARRESTED: Adam J. Kimmel (DOB: 10/14/60) of numerous listed residences, and 227 Taconic St  Salisbury, CT.

CASE #1 CHARGES: Sex Offender Registry Violation and held on a $25,000.00 bond.

CASE #2 CHARGES: Risk of Injury (2 Counts) and Sexual Assault 4th Degree and held on a $75,000.00 bond.

This investigation is on-going and additional arrest warrants are being sought.
