FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

10/20/10

On 10/19/10 at about 9:00 p.m. State Police Troop K in Colchester received a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery had just taken place in the parking lot of the 7-11 gas station located on Rte 6 in the town of Andover. Troopers responded to the scene and initiated a complete search of the area for the suspect.  State Police K-9 teams responded to conduct K-9 tracks for the suspect. All area police departments were advised of this incident.

Troopers determined that two female subjects went into the 7-11 to purchase some items. They exited the store and then while seated in their car parked in the 7-11 parking lot a subject wearing a ski type mask, black gloves and dark clothing opened the driver side door of the vehicle and placed what was reported to be a hand gun against one of the females and stated “give me all you got” several times. The subject grabbed a purse off one of the victim’s laps and fled into an adjacent wooded area.

State Police eastern District Major Crime detectives responded to the scene and assumed the criminal investigation. Witnesses were interviewed and evidence was gathered by detectives at the scene.

This case is currently under investigation and anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Troop K at 860-537-7524. All calls will be kept confidential.
