INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARRESTS
DRUG AND WEAPONS SEIZURES

   On February 19, 2010, the Connecticut State Police Statewide NarcoticS Task Force - East Field Office and the Hartford Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a joint investigation into a large scale marijuana cultivation operation. Investigation lead to the execution of a narcoticS-related search warrant at 286 Woodland Road, Mansfield CT. It was learned through this investigation that the below listed accused had rented the property and converted it into a sophisticated marijuana grow operation with each room functioning for various stages of the cultivation process.

   All arrested will appear in Rockville Superior Court today 2/22/2010

Seized: Numerous marijuana plants at various growth stages

            $1,510.00 US Currency

            2004 Infinity

            Berretta 9mm handgun

            Berretta 25mm handgun

            Numerous items of equipment utilized in the cultivation process.

ACCUSED:    Rodney Kincaid (DOB 07/25/1981)     CONVICTED FELON

                   30 New Hampshire Drive, New Britain, CT

CHARGES:    Poss. Marijuana

                  Poss. Marijuana WITS

                  Cultivation of Marijuana

                  Operating a Drug Factory

                  Criminal Poss. Firearm by Convicted Felon

                  Altering Serial Number Firearm

                  Poss. Stolen Firearm

                  Risk of Injury (2 counts)

   The Statewide Narcotic Task Force – East Field Office is comprised of members from the State Police, the New London, Groton Town, Groton City, Putnam and Willimantic Police Departments.
