STATE POLICE CONTINUE INVESTIGATING

POMFRET HOMICIDE

   On 12/16/09 at 6:51 p.m., State Police at Troop D received a report that a family member had conducted a well-being check for the occupant of a private residence at 11 Wolf Den Road in Pomfret.

   Troopers responded to the scene and did locate a deceased female inside the residence. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.  The residence was secured by Troopers. State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to conduct the investigation. 

   Troopers and Major Crime Detectives worked through the night and processed the scene for physical and forensic evidence. Major Crime Detectives are conducting the criminal investigation into this death.

   Troopers have made a tentative identification of the deceased but are withholding that information pending notification of family.

   A post mortem examination of the deceased female victim will take place on Dec. 18, at the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner to determine the manner and cause of death.

   State Police are searching for the victim’s vehicle a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup color black bearing Connecticut Registration 1CK782.  Anyone who may see that vehicle is asked to contact police at t immediately. Anyone with any information about the case is asked to contact the Connecticut State Police at Troop D, in Danielson, 860-779-4900.

   The case is under investigation.

                                              **UPDATE**

          Connecticut State Police continue to follow leads in the homicide investigation if Pomfret.  Troopers have identified the female victim as  ROBIN CLOUTIER,  11 Wolf Den Dr., Pomfret. 

         The Office of the Chief States Medical Examiner has completed the postmortem examination of the deceased.  The cause of death was multiple stab wounds and cutting injury. 

          A motor vehicle registered to the victim was recovered in Springfield, Massachusetts on Dec. 23.

  

         The State Police Major Crime Squad is continuing this investigation.
