STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN LEDYARD HOME INVASION/STABBING

   Connecticut State police issued an alert to all surrounding police agencies for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred on the morning of 1/28/09 at a home invasion in Ledyard.

   The assault was reported to State Police on 01/28/09 at 5:20 a.m. at a residence located at 189 Ephraim's Path in Ledyard. Upon arrival, State Police determined that two people were involved in a violent assault with the accused, and one person did suffer a minor stabbing injury. After conducting a criminal investigation into the incident, State Police Detectives submitted an arrest warrant application to Superior Court for the arrest of the accused. The warrant was issued by the court.  State Police continued to search for the suspect.

   SUSPECT:  DAHLQUIST, Deacan  DOB: 06/10/84 was described as a 23-year-old black male, 6 feet, 185 lbs, brown eyes, black hair, last seen wearing a dark grey hoodie, black coat and black jeans. The suspect is believed to be armed and in the New London area.

   Today, 01/29/09, shortly after 6:00 p.m., State Police located the accused and took him into custody without incident in New London.  The accused was transported to State Police Troop E where he was processed and is being held on $500,000 bond. The accused will appear in Superior Court GA #10 New London on 01/30/09 for arraignment.

   No additional arrests are anticipated in this case.
