                           SUPER BOWL SUNDAY ENFORCEMENT

   Super Bowl Sunday has become one of America’s biggest and most entertaining national sporting events.  Friends and families gather to watch the big game and to enjoy the festivities surrounding the game.  However, the festivities can make it one of the year’s most dangerous days on the roads and highways of our state due to impaired driving-related accidents.

   On Super Bowl Sunday, State Police encountered numerous violations by motorists traveling on roads and highways of Connecticut.

   The following arrests were made by State Police on Super Bowl Sunday.

   DUI arrests - 13 people were taken into custody for DUI.

   A total of 55 accidents were investigated on roads and highways across the state.

Of these, six of these accidents produced injury, one of them serious injury.  There were no fatalities in Connecticut

   State Troopers issued 471 Tickets for motor vehicle violations to include speeding, seat belt and other hazardous moving violations.
