                         ARREST AIRPORT BAGGAGE HANDLERS

  

   On 08/10/08 Connecticut State Police Troopers at Troop- W located at the Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks Connecticut received a complaint of an I-pod theft from baggage from a Delta airlines flight. A criminal investigation was initiated by the State Police. Troopers determined that in addition to the theft of property, a cargo storage unit had also been burglarized and items were taken from that unit. 

   State Troopers conducting this investigation gathered investigative information, conducted interviews, and submitted search warrant applications to Superior Court for search and seizure warrants to conduct searches at several locations for evidence related to this case. State Troopers recovered a substantial amount of stolen property during these searches. Items recovered by State Police included but not limited to laptops, flat Screen TV’s, cameras, I-Pods, GPS units, 5 foot wooden carved African masks, jewelry watches and earrings.

   During the investigation it was also determined that some Delta Airline employees and a family member of a suspect became involved by tampering with evidence.

   State Police Investigators submitted arrest warrant applications to Superior Court for the arrest of several employees of Delta Global Services (baggage handlers), Delta Airline employees and a family member. Several arrest warrants were issued  by Superior Court GA# 13.

The following people were taken into custody by State Police. Each person was processed at Troop-W Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks-

This is the first phase of arrests in this ongoing criminal investigation at Bradley International Airport. Connecticut State Troopers expect to make additional arrests in this case.
