State Police Investigating the Untimely Death

of a 7 Month Old Infant, Mansfield

On Monday evening, May 19, 2008 at approximately 7:54 p.m. the State Police (Troop C) was notified by Emergency Medical Services that an unresponsive 7 month old child was being transported by ambulance from at a private residence located at 260 Stearns Road in the Town of Mansfield to Windham Memorial Hospital.

Upon arrival to Windham Memorial Hospital the child was transported via Lifestar to Hartford Hospital.

At approximately 10 p.m. the child died while being attended to by medical personnel at Hartford Hospital.

The State Police are conducting an Untimely Death investigation into this incident. State Police Detectives have been assigned to this investigation.

*A post mortem examination of the infant has been conducted but the results are inconclusive pending further tests and/or results of certain tests. The cause of death has not been determined therefore the manner of death unknown at this time.

*The infant is being identified as Michael Brown Jr. d.o.b. 10/17/2007. The child was being cared for in the home of a licensed foster care provider.
