                      OWNER/OPERATOR OF DRIVING SCHOOL IN WATERBURY
                                                ARRESTED ON FORGERY CHARGES

   On March 27, 2008, Fernando Dias, the owner and operator of “ClassicDriving School” located at 350 Fairfield Avenue in Waterbury, was arrested by arrest warrant by the State Police Motor Vehicle Fraud Task Force.  

   The investigation into the activities of Henry Kruszewski the owner of “Express Driving School” in Stratford, CT, revealed that Kruszewski was, for a fee creating fraudulent Immigration, Social Security, and College documents for his driving school students to make it appear as though each was a student in the United States.

         

   Kruszewski is a former business partner of Dias.

   A review of supporting documents for Connecticut Drivers’ Licenses issued to individuals who attended “Classic Driving School” revealed  the same fraudulent Immigration, Social Security, and College documents that appear in the “Express Driving School” students’ files.

   On March 20the, 2008, two Search and Seizure Warrants were executed at “Classic Driving School” and at 26 George Street in the City of  Naugatuck, the residence of Dias. The search of the business and subsequent investigation resulted in information to substantiate the issuance of the arrest warrant served today.

      

Arrested: Fernando Dias  age 57  d.o.b. 12-15-50

                of 26 George Street in Naugatuck, CT

Charges:  One (1) count of violating the Corrupt Organization and

                                           Racketeering Activities Act (C.O.R.A.)

               Nine (9) counts of Second Degree Forgery 2nd degree

Bond and Court: Dias was released today on a $250,000 bond,

                         scheduled to appear at GA#4 Waterbury Court

                         on April 4th, 2008.
