                                STATE POLICE STORM INFORMATION

The Connecticut State Police patrolled all of the interstate highways and many secondary roads in Connecticut during the last two major storms.   The road conditions were slippery during both storms especially the exit and entrance ramps as well as overpasses across the state. Additional State Police manpower was assigned to supplement the normal State Police patrol force.  Troopers attempted to clear all accidents and disabled cars from the roads in an effort to keep all roads open for the DOT snow plowing operations.

During the Friday storm State Police responded to and investigated 387 accidents, 47 with minor injuries.  In addition Troopers have responded to over 2700 calls for service.

During Sunday's storm Troopers responded to and investigated 194 accidents 21 with minor injury.  Troopers also responded to over 1100 calls for service.

Today, State Police reported roads conditions to be good with some slippery spots. Troopers responded to and investigated 24 accidents, two with minor injury, with numerous calls for service.

All drivers are reminded to clear all windows and remove snow and ice from your car. Motorist are cautioned to expect slippery conditions to exits on many secondary roads, on some bridges, overpasses, exit and entrance ramps.

All State Police specialty vehicles remain deployed statewide in the event they are need for emergency response.
