                        STATE POLICE MAKE ARRESTS IN

                               β€œHIGH SCHOOL” BOMB THREAT

   On Sunday shortly after 12:30 a.m. State Police at Troop-L Litchfield received a telephone threat where the caller stated β€œAt 7:30 Monday morning I am going to blow up the High school.”   The caller gave no further information and terminated the call.

   State Police initiated a criminal investigation immediately upon termination of the call. All area Police agencies were notified of the threat and the content of the telephone call to  enable them to communicate with their local school officials regarding the potential threat to their local high schools.

   State Police Patrol Troopers conducted this criminal investigation. Additional State Police patrols were provided on Monday morning 06/11/07 to the High Schools located in State Police jurisdiction in Northwest Connecticut to provide added security to each facility as required.

   State Police investigators developed leads, gathered evidence and detailed information in this investigation that led to the identification of multiple suspects in this case.

   State Police investigators learned that a stolen cell phone was utilized to make this threatening telephone call which impacted the opening times of numerous school systems in the state.

   Today, 06/13/07, State Police submitted three arrest warrant affidavits to Superior Court for the arrests of the three accused in this case. Three warrants were issued by the court and State Police Troopers took all three accused into custody without incident.

ARRESTED#1:   WILLIAMS, Durel     DOB:05/7/87

                     541 South  Main St.

                     Torrington, Ct.

CHARGES:      Threatening 1st, Falsely Reporting an Incident 1st, False Statement  2nd

Accused held on $30,000 bond to appear GA #18 Litchfield on 06/14/07.

ARRESTED #2:   JUVENILE MALE  age 15

CHARGE:           Larceny 6th         

Accused held on $12,000 bond andplaced in juvenile custody to appear in juvenile court in Torrington.

ARRESTED#3:    JUVENILE MALE  age 14

CHARGES:          Accessory to Threatening 1st

                       Accessory to Falsely Reporting an Incident  1st

Accused held on $20,000 bond and placed in juvenile custody to appear in juvenile court in Torrington.

No additional arrests are anticipated in this case.
