              STATE POLICE NEW HAVEN NARCOTICS TASK FORCE

           SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION NETS SEIZURE AND ARRRESTS 

   On 05/15/2007, the State Police New Haven Narcotics Task Force, and New Haven P.D. executed two Search Warrants at 161 Lenox Street and 87 Norton Street concerning drug dealing within the City of New Haven. At the Lenox Street location, Detectives located 3.56 ounces of crack cocaine, .5 grams of marijuana, 45 caliber ammunition and $1,795.00 in U.S. currency. The following suspect was arrested at the Lenox Street scene:

   Samuel Cruz  DOB 10/25/1977

   161 Lenox Street

   New Haven, CT 
   Bond $250,000.00

   The accused was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500’ of a school, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1500' of a school, and risk of injury to a minor.  The suspect will be arraigned at the New Haven Superior Court on 05/16/07.

   The second location where a search and seizure warrant was executed was located at 87 Norton Street, 2nd floor, concerning drug dealing within the City of New Haven. Detectives located 19.2 grams of crack cocaine and 15.4 grams of marijuana during the search operation. The following suspects were arrested at the Norton Street scene:

1)         Lamar T. Hall,  DOB 01/22/1969, Bond $150,000.00

2)       Oliver Ross, DOB 11/17/67, Bond $250,000.00

   Both of the accused were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500’ of a school, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500' of a school.  Both suspects will be arraigned at the New Haven Superior Court on 05/16/07.

   The State Police New Haven Narcotics Task Force is staffed by Connecticut State Troopers and New Haven Police Officers. Working together, this task force continues to investigate narcotics violations and quality of life crimes in the City of New Haven.
