On 08/31/07, the Woodbury Resident State Trooper received a complaint from an employer reporting that an employee failed to come to work, which is out of character for that person.  The Trooper obtained the name and address of the subject and went to the apartment that was located on Mountain Rd in Woodbury.  Upon arrival the Trooper observed the car that belongs to the male and also a car belonging to the female who also resides in the apartment.  The Trooper received no response from the apartment and neighbors have not seen the two occupants.

A family member who had a key to the apartment was located and responded to the scene. Upon entry into the apartment the State Trooper observed the female deceased inside and the male subject in a state of severe disorientation. He was not able to provide any details regarding the incident.

Woodbury EMS responded to the scene, pronounced the female deceased and transported the male subject to Waterbury Hospital emergency room.

The scene was secured by responding police and the State Police Western District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and conducted the criminal investigation into this incident. The Office of the Chief State’s Medical examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased female. The results are not conclusive and the M.E. case remains a suspicious death pending further medical studies.
