            STATE POLICE CONTINUE THREAT INVESTIGATION

                                 AT EAST GRANBY HIGH SCHOOL

   The East Granby Resident State Trooper’s Office is investigating a complaint of a suspicious incident that occurred on Tuesday, 6/12/07 at about 10:15 a.m. at the East Granby High School at 95 South Main St., East Granby, CT.

   A student notified school administrators of a non-specific threatening statement referring to JUNE 20th that was written on the wall inside a boy’s bathroom.  The bathroom was secured by school officials and the East Granby resident State Trooper was notified.

   The Resident State Trooper and State Troopers responded and determined that there was no imminent danger to students or staff.  State Police remained at the facility for the remainder of the school day. A criminal investigation was initiated by State Police to determine the source of the written threat.

   On 06/19/07 School Officials made the decision to close the facility for the day.  

   School officials were advised of the criminal investigation and the content of the written threat. The State Police investigation is continuing. As a part of this investigation, State Police K-9 bomb sniffing teams and troopers searched to school facility today 06/20/07.

   The investigation is continuing.
