COURT ESCAPEE CAPTURED BY STATE POLICE

     On 11/01/07, at approximately 2:00 a.m., State Police Detectives developed information relative to a possible location of the escapee JOHN  WILLIAMS III, the suspect who had escaped from the New Haven Courthouse on 10/31/07.

     State Police developed information and determined that the suspect was inside a Branford Motor Inn (Days Inn) Motel located on East Main Street in Branford. The suspect was believed to be armed and dangerous.  The motel was surrounded and the Connecticut State Police Tactical Team responded to the scene.

     At approximately 4:30 am the State Police Tactical Team made entry into the motel room and took the suspect into custody without incident.  Also taken into custody at that time was a female who was also located inside the motel room.

     Both accused were transported to Troop I in Bethany where they are being processed and formally charged in this case.

                     LKA Ward St.,  New Haven, CT
CHARGES: Escape 1st, Interfering with Police

ARRESTED #2   JOHNSON, Shequette  DOB: 05/08/86
                     31 Henry St.,  New Haven, Ct.
CHARGES: Interfering with Police,  Hindering Prosecution

Bond set at $ 100,000

Both accused will be presented in Superior Court GA #23 New Haven today, 11/01/07, to answer the charges.
