ARREST MADE IN WRONG WAY DRIVER ACCIDENT

    

     On Monday, February 5, 2007, at approximately 4:49 a.m. a motor vehicle accident occurred on I91 northbound just south of exit 13 near the Wallingford-North Haven town lines. As a result of accident one of the two operators involved was killed and the other operator was seriously injured.

     State Police Troopers responded to the accident scene and began an investigation which included the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad. The initial accident investigation revealed that a vehicle being operated by Israel Quintero was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I91 when it impacted into a northbound vehicle being driven by Alan Broome.  Broome was pronounced deceased at the scene and Quintero was transported to Yale-New haven Hospital with serious injuries.

     Troopers assigned to investigate this accident prepared an arrest warrant for Quintero and presented the warrant to the court. That arrest warrant was granted by the court.

     On Monday February 26th, 2007 Quintero was released from the hospital at which time he was taken into custody by State Troopers and presented at the Meriden Superior Court G.A. 7.

                       Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle

                       Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance

                       Operating without a License
